Privacy policy.
Last updated 26 July 2026. This policy explains how information submitted through the public website may be handled.
1. Who we are
Overseas Accounting provides remote accounting preparation support from Mohali, India, with its current public service offering focused on New Zealand accounting firms and businesses. Privacy questions can be sent to [email protected].
2. Information we may collect
- Contact details such as name, business email, firm or company name.
- Information voluntarily included in a workflow enquiry.
- Email addresses submitted through the newsletter subscription bar, together with subscription and unsubscribe records.
- Technical information such as IP address, browser information, server logs and security events.
- Business correspondence created when we respond to an enquiry.
3. Do not submit confidential records
The public enquiry form is not a secure client portal. Do not submit bank statements, Inland Revenue records, payroll data, identity documents, passwords, tax numbers, client files or other confidential financial information through the form.
4. How information may be used
- To respond to New Zealand accounting service enquiries and send an automatic acknowledgement to the sender.
- To send subscribed readers New Zealand accounting articles, service updates and practical workflow guidance.
- To evaluate whether a proposed workflow is within our capability and capacity.
- To protect the website, prevent spam and diagnose technical problems.
- To keep appropriate business records and comply with legal obligations.
- To improve website content and usability.
5. Service providers and international processing
Website hosting, email, analytics, spam-protection or business-software providers may process information on our behalf. Because the delivery centre is in India and clients may be in New Zealand, information connected with an enquiry may be processed outside New Zealand. Engagement-specific transfer, access and retention arrangements should be agreed before confidential client records are exchanged.
6. Retention
Enquiry information is retained only for as long as reasonably required to respond, manage a prospective or active business relationship, meet legal obligations, maintain security or resolve disputes. Newsletter subscription records are retained while the address remains subscribed and for a reasonable period afterwards to preserve unsubscribe preferences and demonstrate that the request was actioned.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the information handled through this website. No internet transmission is completely secure, and the public enquiry form is not a secure client document portal.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection. Newsletter readers can unsubscribe using the link included in each welcome or newsletter email. Requests can also be sent to [email protected]. We may need to verify the requester’s identity before acting.
9. Cookies, local storage and analytics
The base website does not require advertising cookies. Essential session cookies may be used on the contact page for form security. The newsletter bar may use browser local storage to remember that it was dismissed or that a subscription was completed, so it does not repeatedly interrupt the same visitor. If analytics, chat, embedded media or additional marketing tools are added, this policy and any consent controls will be updated as required.
10. External links
The website may link to Inland Revenue, Xero and other third parties. Their websites operate under their own privacy policies.
11. Changes
We may update this policy when website tools, legal requirements or business practices change. The latest version will be published on this page with a revised date.
12. Contact
Privacy questions may be sent to [email protected] or to Plot No. 1028, Sector 82, Alpha Block B, IT City, Mohali, Punjab, India.
